A 1-day, 7 PDU (0.7 CEU) instructor-led Program

(Note: Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AE/C) firms extend the definition of traditional project management to include several critical business practices. This program reflects that extended definition.)

Technical professionals in AE/C firms want to know what's involved in becoming a project manager. This program introduces the elements of basic project management and the primary skills required to lead a project team. You will learn about balancing the triple constraints of scope, cost, and schedule with the other project imperatives of quality, risk, stakeholder satisfaction, and business profit.

The program will describe the elements of a robust project plan such as: a scope statement, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), network logic diagram, schedule, and resource assignments. From this solid plan come winning proposals with healthy profit margins.

Elementary team leadership tools include: rules of engagement for teams, personal goal setting, time management, dealing with disagreements, and task delegation.

Through the interactive game of Stays & Days®, everyone will manage a project, revise a plan based on milestone achievements, assess risk, and re-plan to produce the winning project schedule and cost.

The program includes the latest terminology from The PMBOK® Guide, Third Edition.

Upon completion, you will be able to:

·    Describe the role of a project manager
